• NikkieTutorials went on The Ellen Show in her first interview since sharing that she is a transgender woman.
  • She talks about growing up as a trans kid and being blackmailed.

NikkieTutorials has been living her best life since she came out as transgender last week. Not only has she been nominated for a Shorty Award (again) for YouTuber of the Year, she was also a guest on Ellen!

Nikkie talked with Ellen about how everything went down with being blackmailed into coming out. She didn't name names, but it turns out the blackmailer got in touch with her a few weeks back. They accused her of lying about her identity and threatened to out her. She told Ellen they said, "if we don't get an answer by tomorrow, it's out." Nikkie said she felt this person's goal was to "destroy my life."

That plan definitely didn't work but it had Nikkie worried. She said she was crying when she uploaded her coming out video and it was her fiancé, Dylan, who helped her get through it.

Nikkie also said that she's wanted to openly talk about being transgender for a while now, but she couldn't figure out the right time to do it. So while she isn't happy that she was forced into coming out this way, she did say she's happy that she can be "free." Now, she wants to inspire other transgender people who are looking for acceptance and understanding.

As if this interview couldn't get any better, Ellen made a $10,000 donation to The Trevor Project, a non-profit that provides resources to LGBTQ+ youth, in Nikkie's name.
