Everyone's favorite matchmaker, Kitty Song-Covey, is getting her very own fairytale love story. On Thursday, May 18, Netflix premiered the new To All The Boys spinoff series, Xo, Kitty. The ten-episode series follows Lara Jean's baby sister Kitty (Anna Cathcart) after she decides to reconnect with her late mother by attending the same prestigious boarding school in Seoul, South Korea. Paying homage to her mother isn't the only reason Kitty wants to head to the Korean Independent School of Seou (KISS). The high school junior wants to finally get some time with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae (Minyeong Choi), who she hasn't seen since meeting him IRL while vacationing in the final To All the Boys film.

Soon after Kitty arrives in Seoul, she learns that things are quite what she expected. XO, Kitty is jammed back with swoon-worthy love stories, K-pop hits that you'll rock out to long after you finish binging the series, and light-hearted discussions about important topics like sexual identity.

So without further ado, here’s a comprehensive explainer on the ending of Netflix’s new series XO, Kitty.

What happens in the last episode of XO, Kitty?

XO, Kitty's season finale kicks off the day of the Korean Talent Show at KISS. The drama begins as Kitty reveals to Dae that she has feeling for someone else. Dae assumes that Kitty's feelings are for Minho and immediately tries to attack him. Surprised by Dae's reaction, Kitty breaks up their scuffle and reveals that Minho isn't the person she likes.

After seeing Dae's reaction, Min Ho says that he and Kitty should be friends because things aren't working out between them. Once Min Ho leaves, Kitty reveals that she started developing feelings for Yuri on the night of Min Ho's party. Dae asks Kitty why she decided to get back with him if she knew she liked someone else, and she explains that she was curious about her sexuality and likes both girls and boys. A visibly disappointed Dae ends the conversation and walks away from her.

Jina's family hosts an intervention with Professor Alex, Yuri, and Professor Lee. Jina explains that she didn't tell him about her pregnancy because she didn't want to prevent him from pursuing his goal of becoming a singer.

Later on that night, Kitty calls her dad and reveals the questions she'd been having about her sexuality. Dr. Covey assures Kitty that it’s okay for her to be confused about her feelings, especially because she's still a teen. Kitty comes clean about how she's been performing in school and explains how she was using her time in Seoul to learn and grow as a person. She also says that she has learned a lot more about her mother during her stay in Korea.

The episode continues as Kitty packs for summer break and talks to Q about her newfound feelings for Yuri, and shares her uncertainty about returning the next semester because of her grades. Q reveals that Florian cheated on his exams to maintain his scholarship, and Kitty urges Q to be careful with him. Q takes immediate offense and calls Kitty out for being judgmental.

The following morning, all of the students from the boys' dorm check out their grades for the semester. Q tells Florian that he passed and was stunned to see that he had taken over Dae's number-one spot after cheating. Q learns that Kitty also passed, and she appears in the hall, leaving almost everyone surprised. Q later confronts Florian about cheating, and the dorm warden immediately reports Kitty for staying in the boys’ dorms.

Kitty goes to a hearing with the school board and tries to reason with them, but Jina reveals to her that she's been expelled for breaking the code of conduct by staying in the boy's dorm. Kitty tries to change their minds with an emotional speech during lunch, but it doesn't work.

Kitty begins packing for her flight back home and has an emotional farewell with Q. As Kitty prepares to go to the airport, she runs into Jina, who gives her one of her mother's letters. Kitty responds by giving her a playlist her mother left behind. Dae learns that his scholarship will be taken away after he came in second to Florian. When Dae tells Q how happy he is that Kitty passed, Q reveals that she was expelled from school and immediately has his father drive him to the airport in an attempt to see Kitty before she leaves for good.

Dace races to the airport and catches up to Kitty and they have a heartfelt chat about their relationship and decide to break up for good. Kitty assures Dae that they are each other's first loves, and nothing will ever change that. They kiss one last time and go their separate ways.

Kitty somehow bumps into Yuri at the airport and opens up about her feelings for her. Their conversation was cut short by Juliana's arrival. As Kitty leaves Yuri to reunite with her ex, Yuri calls her mother and asks her to reconsider Kitty's expulsion.

How does XO, Kitty end?

As the series prepares to end, Kitty runs into Min Ho on the airplane, and he reveals that he's in love with her. Kitty boards the airplane back home to Los Angeles and is stunned to find that Min Ho will be sitting next to her. He reveals that he's going to visit his mother in Los Angeles, and Kitty explains to him that she broke up with Dae for good. This inspires Min Ho to confess that he fell in love with Kitty during their time together at school. The episode ends with a visibly shocked Kitty preparing to take the 11-hour trek from Seoul back to her home in the US.
