*Major spoilers for XO, Kitty below!*

XO, Kitty, the spin-off series to the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise, has officially debuted on Netflix, putting a spotlight on Lara Jean’s little sister, Kitty Song Covey, and her journey in love.

The series begins with the clever Kitty jet-setting to South Korea to attend the prestigious Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), connect with the memory of her late mother, and reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae. But Kitty soon realizes that her relationship wasn’t exactly what it seemed over FaceTime and texts, and that life in Seoul might be more complicated than she imagined.

If you’ve already binge-watched all 10 episodes of season 1 (same), then you’re probably wondering when season 2 will drop on the streaming service. Without further ado, here’s everything we know so far about season 2 of XO, Kitty.

After that cliffhanger in the finale, we need answers, and we're so glad we'll have another season to hopefully address all our questions.

Who would return to XO, Kitty season 2?

We can probably expect most of the main characters to return, including:

  • Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey
  • Minyeong Choi as Dae
  • Gia Kim as Yuri
  • Anthony Keyvan as Q
  • Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho
  • Théo Augier Bonaventure as Florian
  • Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison

John Corbett, who plays Kitty’s dad Dan Covey, and Sarayu Blue, who portrays her step-mother Trina Rothschild, might also make an appearance, as they did in season 1. Lana Condor didn’t have a cameo as Lara Jean in the first season, nor did Janel Parrish as Margot, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

What would season 2 of XO, Kitty be about?

Quick reminder that there are spoiler alerts (!) following, so proceed with caution.

In episode 10, “OTP,” Kitty’s been expelled from KISS for living in the boy’s dorms, and there’s a major love triangle happening. While Dae and Kitty break up, Kitty can’t ignore the feelings she’s developed for Yuri. She tries to tell her when they run into each other at the airport, but just then, Yuri’s girlfriend Juliana arrives and Kitty walks away. Meanwhile, Kitty boards the plane to discover that her seatmate is Min Ho, who in the final minutes of the finale, confesses that he thinks he fell “a lot in love” with her. OMG.

In a June 2023 interview with Good Morning America, leading lady Anna Cathcart said she hopes fans "find comfort" in the queer storylines throughout the series.

"I love that Kitty is just giving herself the space to figure it out. And she doesn't have to have all the answers," Anna said. "By the end of the season she still doesn't, and that's what she's learning. It's OK, and it's part of the process, and what makes it so beautiful." The 19-year-old actress added that the Netflix series' queer storylines are "really special."

"We have a lot of different queer characters on our series, as well, and it shows that queer stories are not always the same and everybody's journey is not always the same. And I hope viewers find comfort in that," she explained.
